We have turbocharged this car, un-turbocharged this car, and tried a myriad of different combinations of intake and exhaust manifolds, turbo sizes from 62mm all the way up to 80mm, and so many different things in between.  In our latest iterations of our painfully exhausting research and development, you can see, and hear, the fruits of our labor working with the perfect intake manifold.  We were not only able to build an intake manifold that could handle tremendous boost and top end power, but we managed to boost power and torque naturally aspirated, too!.  Combined with precise, true closed loop VANOS control, we are seeing power and consistency never before available to the E46 turbo world.  This intake manifold, with a short ram or cold air intake, will shortly be available in our online webstore for those running stand alone engine management naturally aspirated (or turbo!)and looking for maximum power and a sound that can ONLY come from a hand fabricated Aluminum intake manifold; plastic or carbon fiber couldn't come close!  Our turbo kit is already installed and running but we wanted to share this sound.

We've got great news!  The FSR E46 M3 S54 tubular turbo manifolds are finalized and ready to go!  We've been working on the design and implementation for over a year now to make sure we got things right.  After a number of variations and changes, our S54 tubular turbo manifolds are already shipping.  We've got multiple projects in the shop receiving these tubular turbo manifolds already shooting for big numbers.  Read on to find out more about what went into this masterpiece, and what sets our turbo manifold apart from the rest!

Here we go!  With more and more BMW clientele looking for serious power for both the street and track, turbocharging the strong and precise S54 was an easy decision!  The goal with this car is the following: a very cost effective turbocharger package that includes everything necessary to turn up the wick (by a lot) with supporting modifications but docile enough to use as a quick daily driver, all on a budget!  Of course, our idea of a "basic" build still includes all of the latest technology: a ProEFI 128 ECU, Precision billet CEA turbocharger, the latest and greatest from Turbosmart, FIC, etc...

We have already started production of our E46 M3 / S54 Tubular Turbo Manifold.  In order to continually improve our design, we are working with every element of every radius, turn, and collector angle for the best horsepower, reliability, fitment, and packaging.  We chose to go with a bottom mount design for fit, finish, and packaging reasons.  From experience we know a 4" downpipe and 4" intake are going to be very important in making the power we want to make.  We also don't want to "hack up" the car and running a downpipe essentially on top of the coil wiring just doesn't jive with the kind of thoroughly engineered work we like to produce at FSR.  We also were only comfortable using 1.5" sch 10 piping; 1.25" piping just doesn't make the power we are accustomed to, and as power levels rise, the restriction gets worse. Experience on the dyno and on the track has taught us many lessons about building cars!  Check out some of these pictures!

Here are a couple pictures of the revised S54 turbo manifold.  Mike has been able to slim the entire manifold down for better fit, easier assembly, and more direct flow from all cylinders.  Not to mention as we get closer to production readiness, we make strides in getting the fit and finish up to FSR standards.  We built a very conservative jig and have been able to outperform in almost every area.
