From driver Richard Cooper: "I have competed in a ton of indoor go-karting races including the 2010 indoor karting world championships in Phoenix at f1 raceway.  I made the first round of qualifying for the red bull kart fight in 2012 at k1 raceway.  I did my first autocross at Subiefest 2012 and took 19th out of 42, then I went to DirtFish Rally school and did their 3 day course in May 2012.  I completed my first rallycross at Ridgecrest rallyschool/rallycross race in Feb 2013 and took 4th out of 19 in stock awd class, then I started the Glen Helen rallycross series in march.  I won the season opener in prep awd, and in rounds 2 and 3 for glen helen in May I took 3rd and 2nd, respectively.  Then, at the South Pacific SCCA National Rallycross Challenge I took 3rd in prep awd.  I'm still waiting on official results from Saturday, July 13, 2013 but I think I took 8th out of 27."

Richard's car is a basically stock Subaru 2002 WRX with a Cobb Accessport and FSR's dyno proven Cobb Protune.  Richard is very pleased with the tune and the increased power he gained throughout the powerband.  He even noted, "the car is so much faster now after the tune, it feels like i have to relearn the car all over again"

FSR headed out to Coalinga, CA this last weekend to join some friends at the always exciting Shift S3ctor event.  We felt right at home with several turbo Supra's and Turbocharged E46 M3's both in attendance and racing.  As usual, the GTR's were there in force and dominating much of the racing.  There were also several extremely fast Porsche turbos, a smattering of WW2 era sounding AMG machinery, and a variety of boosted N54 E9x cars.  The turbo BMW's held there own against stiff competition with Kenton's red car laying down several 170mph + pulls with his fantastic driving and awesome new Radium powered fuel system.  Jason was also making headway all weekend with his crazy 1000 hp widebody car getting faster every run!  We were also able to show the guys the latest iteration of our E46 M3 turbo kit featuring flex fuel, traction control, on the fly map switching and true closed loop VANOS control.  Look for more updates on that car this week!  All in all it was a great weekend and we can't wait for the next one!

Last month we headed out to Coalinga to race at the Shift S3ctor Airstrip attack event.  We brought our turbo M3 as well as a client's Toyota Supra with our Cast manifold turbo kit sporting 900whp.  It was an absolutely fantastic event and we had a great time helping out where we could and also meeting some new faces in both the Supra and M3 world.  A variety of cars showed, with there being a substantial contingent of turbo E46 M3's, E92's and 1 series, a few Supras, blown vettes, Turbo Ford GT's, a UGR TT Lambo, and lots of turbo Porsche's.

FSR Cinco De Mayo Track Day

Created on Tuesday, 22 May 2012 22:06

On a beautiful early summer day, FSR and many of our customers headed out to the "Roval" at California Speedway.   Since FSR is located in Montclair, it was really nice of Nascar to put the track so close to our location.  This track is an absolute blast to run on, with good run off room for cooked brakes or coming into a corner too hot.  It also lets you run on about 2/3's of the Nascar oval, meaning powerful cars will get well over 150mph, or as high as your gut will allow you.  There is nothing quite like hammering down through the banked turn 1 and 2.

FSR Tuned Apollo Built STi wins Global Time Attack Rd.1

Buttonwillow Raceway, California

On a scorching summer-like day in the California Desert, Apollo Performance and their team set out to break the street tire record and came within 1 second of doing so on their first outing!  With triple digit temperatures, they watched as many of their pro-built huge budget competitors motors' let go.  Meanwhile, driven by Clint, Apollo's WRX got faster and faster throughout the day, and on a lap almost promising to bring home the record, they lost an axle/diff which ended their day.  It was a big success, though, for the FSR Tuned Apollo Performance WRX, as they come away with an easy win and have their sites set on rearranging many of the lap titles for local tracks.  The greatest part?  As a collaboration of local shops, Apollo proves that on a reasonable budget you can go compete with the big boys... and win.  Congratulations to Apollo and thanks for the opportunity to let FSR participate in the tuning/management aspect of your race car project!
